FAQs

What is a Title 24 report?

Specifically, Title 24 refers to the Title 24 California Building Standards Code: a large body of legislative bars to meet for “energy conservation, green design, construction and maintenance, fire and life safety, and accessibility” in buildings, both constructed and renovated. A Title 24 Report is put together by a firm like ours to ensure that your building meets the necessary standards under the code. If you want to view a sample report, one is available here.

Why should we use Americalc?

Sharon and Ray have thousands of projects behind them, and experience in the field spanning decades and several different careers. From commercial centers to residential developments and back again. More than a few of those jobs are correcting work from other firms less familiar with homes and businesses in the area, or those who don’t understand the Wildland Urban Interface.

Why do I need one?

If you’re planning a construction of a new building, or renovation of an existing structure, chances are you’ll need to have a Title 24 Report for it. It encompasses everything from construction materials to lighting, and has to be assembled by a certified inspector. This is to ensure all future buildings comply with the requirements statewide.

What is the Wildland Urban Interface?

‘Wildland urban interface’ is a term that refers to urban areas where they meet wilderness. These areas are especially tricky from an energy efficiency standpoint, as well as fire defense and environmental concerns. Americalc specializes in these zones where people are neighboring natural environment, and has history and knowledge to spare on preparing your home in the wildland urban interface areas.
